User Manual

Welcome to Korte! This guide covers everything you need to know to get started and make the most of the app.

Getting Started

Korte is a pickleball community app that helps you discover open play sessions (called "meets"), join clubs, and compete with players in your area.

Step 1: Create your account with your name, email or phone, and a password.

Step 2: Set up your profile with a display name, username, location, and profile photo.

Step 3: Choose your skill tier (Beginner, Novice, Intermediate, or Advanced) based on your playing ability. Be honest — this determines who you get matched with.

Step 4: You're in! Start exploring meets and join one.

Browsing Without an Account

You can browse Korte without creating an account. The Explore page, meet details, club details, and player profiles are all publicly accessible.

You only need to sign up when you want to join a meet, chat, follow players, or create content. If you try to interact, the app will prompt you to log in or sign up.

Finding and Joining Meets

The Explore tab is your home screen. It shows upcoming meets in your area.

Filters: Use the skill tier chips at the top to filter by your level. Use the calendar icon to filter by date. Toggle the grid icon to group meets by date. Meets are automatically sorted by proximity if location is enabled.

Meet Cards: Each card shows the meet title, date, venue, skill level, available spots, and price. Tap a card to see full details.

Joining: Tap "Join Meet" to reserve your spot. If the meet is full, you can join the waitlist.

Payment

Korte doesn't process payments directly. Payments are made externally (GCash, bank transfer, etc.) and tracked in the app.

How it works:

1. After joining, tap "Pay" to see the organizer's GCash QR code or account number.

2. Send the payment via GCash or your preferred method.

3. Take a screenshot of your payment receipt.

4. Upload the screenshot in the app and tap "Confirm Payment."

5. The organizer reviews your receipt and confirms your slot.

Note: Payment receipts are automatically deleted 3 days after the meet ends for your privacy.

Live Session & Queuing

When a meet goes live, the organizer starts the session and the automated queuing system takes over.

How the queue works:

- The system matches you with players of similar skill level.

- Players who have waited longest get priority.

- In doubles, teams are balanced so each side has similar skill levels (cross-pairing).

- You'll get a push notification when it's your turn to play.

Your view: You can see all courts, who's playing, your position in the queue, and your wait time — everything is transparent.

After your game: The organizer enters the score and you go back into the queue. You won't play more than 2 games in a row — everyone gets fair rotation.

Organizer Tools

Organizers have several tools available during a live session:

Edit Meet: Tap the settings icon on your meet page to update details like title, date, venue, courts, price, or description at any time before the meet ends.

Check-In: Mark which players have arrived at the venue. This helps you track attendance and manage the session accurately.

Guest Mode: Add walk-in players or plus-ones who aren't on Korte. Enter a guest name and skill tier — they'll appear in the queue and rotation like regular players. Guests don't have profiles or earn Korte Points. Great for friends tagging along or first-timers trying out pickleball.

Lock Pairs: In doubles, lock two players together as a permanent team. They'll always be placed on the same side when queued. Useful for couples, training partners, or anyone who wants to play together. Locked players show a link icon in the queue.

Kick from Court: If a player is absent or there's an issue, you can remove them from their current court. The system automatically finds a replacement from the queue so the game continues without interruption.

Edit DUPR: Adjust a player's DUPR rating during a live session if their self-rated skill doesn't match their actual ability. This ensures fair matchups.

Insights: View real-time stats during a live session — average wait time, games played per player, court utilization, and skill distribution. These help you make better decisions about court management and session length.

Korte Points (KP)

Every game you play earns you Korte Points. Your KP is calculated as:

KP = (Wins x 500) + (Point Difference + 250)

Win more games and win by bigger margins to climb higher. Your KP is shown on your profile, on meet standings, and on the global leaderboard.

Pasalo (Slot Transfer)

Can't make it to a meet you already paid for? Use Pasalo to sell your slot to someone on the waitlist.

Selling: Tap "Pasalo Slot" on the meet page. Upload your GCash QR for receiving payment. Your slot is posted to the chat — waitlisted players are notified instantly.

Buying: Tap "Salo Slot" on the Pasalo card in chat. You have 10 minutes to complete the external payment and upload your receipt. If you don't pay in time, the slot is released.

Completion: The seller confirms they received payment, and the swap is finalized. You're now confirmed for the meet.

Chat

Korte has three types of chat:

Meet Chat: Each meet has a group chat. Only confirmed players can send messages — reserved and waitlisted players can read but not send. Meet chats are archived when the meet ends and deleted after 7 days.

Club Chat: Each club has a permanent group chat for all members.

Direct Messages: You can message any player directly from their profile or the Chats tab.

Deleting messages: Long-press (or right-click on desktop) your own message to delete it.

Clubs

Clubs are optional communities. You don't need to join a club to play — but clubs give you access to club-only meets and a dedicated group chat.

Joining: Browse clubs in the Explore → Clubs tab and tap to view details. Tap "Join" to become a member.

Creating: Tap the (+) button at the bottom and select "Create a Club." You become the admin.

Approval Mode: Clubs can require approval for new members. Admins see pending join requests and can approve or reject them.

Club Meets: Admins can create meets linked to the club, visible to all members and the public.

Leaderboard

The Leaderboard tab in Explore shows the global ranking of all players by total Korte Points across all meets.

You can filter by skill tier to see how you rank among Beginners, Intermediates, etc.

The top 3 players are highlighted with a podium display.

Profile & Settings

Profile: Shows your display name, username, tier, DUPR rating, Korte Points, meets attended, clubs joined, followers, and recent meet results.

Edit Profile: Change your display name, username (once every 14 days), location, avatar, DUPR rating, and skill tier.

DUPR Rating: Enter your DUPR number (e.g. 3.200) and the app auto-detects your skill tier. You can also manually select a tier.

Notifications: Manage push notification settings. Enable or disable specific alert types.

Privacy: Toggle whether your clubs and recent plays are visible on your profile.
