When you create a Korte account, we collect: your name, display name, email address, profile photo, skill tier, DUPR rating, and location. During use of the platform, we also collect data related to meet participation, match results, chat messages, and queue activity.
We use your information to: provide and improve the Korte platform, facilitate meet organization and matchmaking, display your profile to other players, send push notifications about meets and messages, and generate leaderboards and statistics.
Your data is stored securely with row-level security policies on our database infrastructure. All data is transmitted over HTTPS. Passwords are hashed and never stored in plain text. We implement industry-standard security measures to protect your personal information.
We do not sell or rent your personal information. Your profile information (name, display name, tier, avatar) is visible to other authenticated Korte users. Payment information (receipts, QR codes) is only visible to relevant meet organizers and participants. We use third-party advertising partners that may collect information through cookies as described in Section 8 below.
Korte uses trusted third-party services for authentication, push notifications, location search, data storage, and advertising. This includes Google AdSense, which we use to display advertisements on the public, non-logged-in areas of Korte. These providers are selected for their security and reliability. Each provider operates under its own privacy policy, and we share only the minimum data necessary for these services to function. Chat messages in meet group chats are automatically deleted 7 days after the meet ends. Payment receipts are deleted 3 days after a meet ends. Profile data is retained until you delete your account. You may request deletion of your data at any time through the app settings.
In accordance with the Philippine Data Privacy Act of 2012 (RA 10173), you have the right to: access your personal data, correct inaccurate data, request deletion of your data, object to data processing, and lodge complaints with the National Privacy Commission. To exercise these rights, use the "Send Feedback" feature in app settings.
Korte uses browser local storage to maintain your authentication session and to store preferences such as your notification prompt status and cookie-consent choice.
We also use cookies and similar technologies for advertising. Korte uses Google AdSense to serve ads on its public pages. Third-party vendors, including Google, use cookies to serve ads based on your prior visits to Korte and other websites. Google's use of advertising cookies enables it and its partners to serve ads to you based on your visit to Korte and/or other sites on the Internet.
You may opt out of personalized advertising by visiting Google Ads Settings. You can also opt out of some third-party vendors' use of cookies for personalized advertising at aboutads.info/choices. If you are in the EEA, the UK, or Switzerland, we request your consent before setting advertising or analytics cookies.
Korte is not intended for children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If we become aware that a child under 13 has provided personal information, we will take steps to delete that information.
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Changes will be reflected by updating the "Last updated" date at the top of this policy. Continued use of Korte after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
